Arek was introduced to fishing when he was just four years old by his mom. Ever since catching those small snappers from the dock, he’s been obsessed with fishing. Although he didn’t fish that much as a little kid, he was part of a sailing family, which led to a strong appreciation for the marine ecosystem. As a high school student, he fishes the waters of western Long Island Sound and the North Fork from shore and kayak.

Despite his young age he’s been involved with conservation organizations such as The American Littoral Society, where he tagged striped bass. Later, summers were spent at SPAT learning about aquaculture and helping to restore the oyster population in Peconic Bay. In the future he hopes to study marine biology in college and continue to help teach and spread the word about conservation.
